Approaching strangers and asking them for their photo used to be unthinkable for me but a big interest and a desire to get to know people, get closer to them helped me to overcome this fear. My camera is my entrance card to people's space, a tool I use to protect myself from possible rejection, so I have a good explanation to myself in case of a "no", that a person refuses a photo but not me. It helps me to be open to meeting new people even without a camera.
